Dorji Dhradhul is a Bhutanese author, thought leader, and sustainable development advocate passionately committed to gender equality and women’s empowerment. With extensive leadership experience—including as Governor of Gasa and Director General of the Tourism Council of Bhutan—he advanced gender-inclusive policies, supported women-led groups, and initiated one of the first childcare facilities in a government office. His acclaimed feminist novel, Escapades – Awakening, recognized by the London School of Economics as a “Top 5 Must-Read Book on International Women’s Day,” in 2019 powerfully illuminates the struggles and resilience of women in rural Bhutan. As a speaker at national events, Dorji has boldly addressed issues like domestic violence and systemic inequality, urging action beyond complacency.He implemented symbolic actions such as inviting grassroots women as guests of honor at official events, amplifying their social recognition. Currently President of Arura Academy of Health Sciences and Brand Ambassador for FemTech Asia and the World Sustainability Organization, he continues to inspire change. As a self-described Creativist Catalyst, Dorji is actively engaging as a global speaker on Women’s Empowerment, Creativity, Gross National Happiness, Sustainable Tourism, and Super 60+.
