Dr. Maria Lourdes Garcia-Monteverde, is the Honorary Consul of MEXICO (Mindanao, Philippines. She is an active member of the Consular Corps of the Philippines and the Convenor of the Consular Corps of Mindanao. Dr. Monteverde is the current Chairperson of the multi awarded, Davao City Chamber of Commerce and Industry and was its longest serving President. She started and institutionalized the Davao Investment Conference, the Innovations Summit and was the prime mover of the ASEAN Connectivity thru the Philippines Indonesia RoRo and pushed for the Open Skies Policy of the Philippines and facilitated for the Davao Clark Airport Connectivity. She is the Private Sector Representative for Mindanao at the Department of Trade and Industry for the MSMED Council and is the MSMED Councils Chairperson for the Global Markets. Dr. Monteverde is the President of the Metropolitan Davao Economic Zone (MDEZ), which is a Special Economic Zone for Agri Industrial Manufacturing Industries located at Digos City, Davao Del Sur, which is a PEZA Registered Ecozone and a Philippine Chamber of Commerce and Industry member. She is the Executive Vice President of the Verdemonte Realty Corporation, which is into Commercial and Residential housing developments in Metro Davao. Dr. Monteverde served as the President of the Philippine Real Estate Service Davao Chapter, as a licensed real estate broker and a Certified International Property Specialist. Dr. Monteverde, is an active Medical Professional whose Specialization is as Fellow of the Philippine Obstetrics and Gynecology and has her medical practice at the Apple One Brokenshire Medical Center. She is the President of the Davao Society of Obstetricians and Gynecologists and has served as Past National Governor of the Philippine Medical Association and as Past President of the Davao Medical Society; the Philippine Obstetrical and Gynecological Society Southern Mindanao Chapter. She is the First Asian Vice President of the International Ambassador Club based in Switzerland and was the First Lady President of the National Ambassador Club of the Philippines. Just recently, they hosted the First Asia Pacific Congress of the International Ambassador Club of the Philippines in Manila last March 2025. She has supported with the Embassy of New Zealand the Upliftment of the Creative Industry of the Matigsalug Tribe of Davao; co founder of the “Dolls for Peace Project” with the Marawi women during the Marawi war and is also the Chairperson of the Mindanao Police Health and Welfare Foundation. She is a multi awarded Leader in the Business and Medical Profession having been recognized as National Broker Awardee by the Gawad Sulo ng Bayan; Profiles ASIA Distinguished Awardee 2024; the only Lady Physician graduate of the Davao Medical School Foundation to be awarded the topmost alumnus award as the “Most Distinguished Alumni Awardee for Visionary Leadership for Local, National and Global Competitiveness” and “Alumnus for Exemplary Performance and Service”, the Most Outstanding Physician Award from the Philippine Medical Association; was awarded as one of Philippines Best Dressed Women in 2020 and graduated with merit from the College of St. Benilde La Salle Executive Diploma on Real Estate Management. She is actively engaged with the local and national government sector and has led the various Festivals and events in Davao and the region. Dr. Monteverde, is married to Dr. Tomas J.
