Associate Professor Dr. Mohd Mursyid bin Arshad is a lecturer at the Department of Professional Development and Continuing Education, Faculty of Educational Studies, Universiti Putra Malaysia (UPM). He currently serves as the Director of the Centre for Co-curriculum and Student Development (PKPP) at UPM. Dr. Mursyid began his academic career at UPM in 2009 as a Tutor. His areas of expertise include continuing education, youth development, youth leadership, and human resource development.
He has received numerous awards, including the Vice Chancellor’s Award (2008), Best Academic Award (HRD) (2008), YOURS Award 2018 (Best Paper Award, National Youth Research Seminar), the Nobel Laureate Research Attachment Grant (University of Illinois, Urbana-Champaign, 2017), the Excellent Lecturer Award, the Excellent Industry and Community Engagement Award, and the Excellent Publication Award.
Dr. Mursyid has also conducted extensive research in the field of youth development. His contributions include involvement in the formulation of the Malaysian Youth Policy, leading the development of the Selangor Youth Policy 2020, the Selangor Human Capital Policy, the Selangor Youth Development Plan, the Pahang Youth Policy, the National "Undi 18" Study for the Ministry of Youth and Sports, serving as a consultant for the Malaysian Youth Index, and the Malaysian Youth Development Action Plan 2035. He is currently leading the study on Empowering Education under the Perak Sejahtera 2030 initiative.
