Dr Christina Ooi From C-suite to the Board, Dr. Christina currently serves as a Board Member on the Regional Board of Malaysia for Chartered Management Institute (CMI), UK's only chartered professional body for manager accreditation. A criminal lawyer by training, this former Chief Procurement Officer (CPO) for Asia Pacific (APAC) with diverse industry experience is also a seasoned speaker, mentor, published author, thought leader, 2024 LinkedIn Top Voice for Career Management, People Management, Communications Management, Negotiation, Executive Management, and Leadership. An acknowledged expert in her field with 33 years of corporate experience across APAC, notably in Procurement Transformation. From technology to telecommunications to aviation to agribusiness, to industrial gases, she spent 22 years with two global organizations, and 11 years in Government-linked companies in Corporate Malaysia. For 14 years, Dr Christina has been an active speaker in major global and APAC conferences on Procurement and Supply Chain, Talent Management, Leadership and Management topics. She has also served on a number of Advisory Boards and Procurement Award judging panels for these institutions and conferences. Paying it forward, she makes time to serve as a volunteer career mentor with a number of organizations: Talent Corporation Malaysia under the Ministry of Human Resources; Project Girls for Girls Malaysia, which empowers women with the courage, vision and skills to take on public leadership, and Talentbank, connecting talent and industries in Malaysia. Her penchant for writing saw her active contribution to legal research in the area of mediation (alternative dispute resolution) with many of my works published in local and international legal journals. Her relentless pursuit and passion in cross-cultural talent management led her to publish her first book, “Surviving the War for Talent in Asia: How Innovation Can Help.” Dr Christina holds a Ph.D. in Law from University of Malaya. She also holds two Master's degrees - Master of Laws, and an MBA. She is also the holder of two first degrees - Bachelor of Arts (Honours) in Communications and a Bachelor of Laws (Honours). Dr Christina is a certified Advocate and Solicitor of the High Court of Malaya where she was called to the Malaysian Bar.
